Flights from Boston are typically the cheapest, though it varies. The drive from Burlington down through Vermont is the most scenic.
Check out "Things to Do" for suggestions near the Burlington and Boston airports if you decide to extend your stay.
The Great Stone Dwelling at the Shaker Museum is conveniently located just a couple minutes' walk from the ceremony location. It's also where Ian and Jessie will be staying and the site of our after-party. While there aren't the amenities you would find at a larger hotel chain, such as a concierge, TVs, or hotel bar, the rooms are clean and spacious, with wifi and mini fridges. The building has fans but not A/C, which is usually fine in New England summers, but something to be aware of. Also note that the rooms are all on the third and fourth floors and there isn't an elevator. Complimentary coffee and tea are provided in the mornings. The Museum has a list of things to do nearby. All rooms are being held for our guests, but there are just 20, so if you prefer this option, book soon! To book, call 603-632-4346, ask for Jenn French, and say you are with the Ebersole-Shaw wedding.
The Courtyard Marriott Lebanon is a 15-minute drive from the ceremony location. The day of the wedding, shuttles will be provided between the Courtyard Marriott and the venue (times TBD). We've secured a group room rate here; you can use this link to book at this rate.
The Hanover Inn is a 20-minute drive from the ceremony location. While we couldn't get a group rate here, this could still be a good option for those looking for somewhat fancier accommodations and able to manage their own transportation. A perk is the Inn's location in downtown Hanover, walking distance from restaurants and bars. Rooms here are likely to go quickly because June 6 is the weekend of Dartmouth's business school graduation.
We also recommend scoping out Airbnbs on or near the lake!
Please keep in mind that Uber is more mythical than Champ in small-town New England. If you choose a lodging option where you can't walk or shuttle to the wedding, please make a plan to get there and back safely.
